COMMERICAL PRODUCTS (MAJOR PORTS)

updated every Wednesday and Thursday

Definitions

  • Commercial products - light distillates, middle distillates, heavy distillates and residues (for a more detailed definition, click here).
  • Five major ports (AFRS) - Amsterdam, Antwerp, Fujairah, Rotterdam, Singapore
  • Four major ports (ARS) - Amsterdam, Antwerp, Rotterdam and Singapore

Inventories (history)

At four major ports, the deficit (relative to 2017 and relative to 5-year average) is relatively small (so far) - just 7.7% and 3.1% respectively. In large part, it is the result of the lack of middle and heavy distillates. Since May 4, 2018, 5-Y av. deficit has narrowed by 7.30 MMbbl (see the 2nd chart).

At five major ports, the deficit (relative to 2017) has increased to -7.5% (from -5.7% the week before).
