Description

These two charts plot the performance of U.S. natural gas exchange-traded funds (ETFs: UNG and UNL) against the performance of natural gas futures contract (NYMEX Henry Hub prompt month and futures strip).

The first chart displays historical (daily closing) prices of United States Natural Gas Fund LP (UNG) and historical (daily closing) prices of natural gas prompt month futures contract (NYMEX Henry Hub).

The second chart displays historical (daily closing) prices of United States 12 Month Natural Gas Fund LP (UNL) and historical (daily closing) prices of natural gas futures strip (NYMEX Henry Hub), which is the average price of the next 12-months month-wise futures contracts.

Update: every weekday + Sunday afternoon.

Traders' Note

Commodity EFTs (even if they are non-leveraged) are not suitable for holding over longer periods of time because they suffer from decay ("tracking error"). Therefore, the above charts deliberately do not show a full history of performance. Use calendar filter to select a specific data range, but note that Max period will always display only the last 400 trading days.
